How did you get started in the industry?
I had previously worked as a venue coordinator and realized that many brides were being told that there was an in-house wedding planner when that was not the case. I started to do more research on how best to help brides and took a wedding planning course. It was during this time that I officially fell in love with wedding planning and decided to make it my day job.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
Goals are meant to be written on paper and worked on with hands.
What do you see as the most challenging aspect of being an Event Planner?
Educating clients on why they need an event planner. Many clients are into doing it themselves and often don’t realize that they still need professional help bringing everything together.
What do you see as the most rewarding aspect of being an Event Planner?
The smiles on my client’s faces after the event is completed, and being able to hear them say how happy they are with the event.
What advice would you give to someone entering the industry today?
Ensure that you know the real reason why you’re entering the industry and stick to what you know best.
Can you share a tool or resource that you could not do without in your business?
My favorite resource is Google. It’s dependable and easily accessible.
